Wanda Carden Hendrix

Mrs. Wanda Carden Hendrix, 72 of Fairmount, GA died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at her daughter's residence. She was born in Gordon County on April 6, 1942, daughter of the late Dewey and Eva Mae Patterson Carden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rembert Hendrix in 2009; her son, Grant Everett in 2008; her daughter, Rhonda Hendrix; a sister-in-law, Ardith Carden; a brother, Lamar Carden; a brother-in-law, Warren Goodwin; and three sisters, Lavone Peters, Juanita Hendrix, and Lonita Carden.

Mrs. Hendrix was employed as a Mail Carrier with the US Postal Service for 12 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Rochelle and Scotty Cantrell, Jaronda and Jeff Crook, and Crystal and Kevin Mulkey, all of Fairmount; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Shelby Millsap of Ranger, Kenneth Carden of Louisville, KY, and Larry and Rosemary Carden of Ranger; sisters, Vivian Goodwin of Roswell, NM, and Sandra Chastain of Fairmount; and a brother-in-law, Joe Peters of Fairmount. Grandchildren surviving are Nicole (Chad) Reece, Joshua (Brooke) Cantrell, Jonathon (Heather) Crook, Hannah Crook, and Makayla Mulkey, all of Fairmount; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Reece, Emmie Reece, Mya Crook, Ariel Crook, Tatelyn Crook, and Kasen Cantrell, all of Fairmount. A special friend, Paula Elrod; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wanda Carden Hendrix will be held Wednesday, March 18th at 1:00 PM from New Hope Baptist Church, with Rev. Earnest Channell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include John Davidson, Billy Davidson, Joe Bennett, Wayne Bennett, Jack Nalley, and Ronald Nalley. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Hendrix, Jason Hendrix, Richard Millsap, Mark Millsap, Joshua Cantrell, and Jonathan Crook.

The Hendrix family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday after 5:00 PM.
