Obituary

Tracey Austin Pelfrey, 54, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born in Rome, Georgia on July 7, 1965, son of the late Marlin & Ellen Pelfrey. He served in the Georgia National Guard, and was a member of the local chapter of the American Legion in Calhoun. Prior to his sickness, he was employed by XL Brands in Dalton.
He is survived by his girlfriend Ellen Locklear; sons Austin Pelfrey and his girlfriend Riley Bedingfield of Henderson, Nevada, and Aaron Pelfrey of Calhoun; two brothers LaWayne Pelfrey and his wife Betsy of Silver Creek; Eric Pelfrey of Plainville; sister Monique Young and her husband Mike of Fairmount; 5 nieces and 7 great-nieces and nephews.
To honor Traceys wishes, his body will be cremated. Services to celebrate Traceys life will be on Saturday, March 7th, at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm, and the celebration of life will be at 3pm; with Pastor Stacy Hensley officiating. American Legion Rides post 47 Calhoun will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made in his memory to Autism Speaks or Siskin Childrens Institute in honor of his great niece Lylah Ross, or American Syringomyelia & Chiari Alliance Project in honor of his great niece Greer Matthews and great nephew Beau Ross.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Homespun Hospice and North Georgia Cancer Care for all the love, care and respect given to Tracey during his illness.
