Tammy Gay Broome

Tammy Gay Broome, 57, of Calhoun, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Urbana, Illinois on March 15, 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Ray Broome, in 2011; her daughter, Sandy Hendrix, in August; and her mother, Barbara Lou Pagel Ward, in 2007.
Tammy worked in various places throughout her life, leaving footprints and building life-long friendships on her journey. Some prominent places that influenced her life were Dairy Queen, Springs, LuskCo., Sample Barn, and was most recently self-employed as a housekeeper for many years. Tammy showed unconditional love to all those whom she came in contact with. Her biggest accomplishment in life was her family, including her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The love of God was shown by the life she lived. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dereck and April Broome of Fairmount, her daughter and sons-in-law, Myra and Ryan Ingle of Calhoun, and Greg Hendrix; a special nephew and his wife, Brian and Kelley Rexroad of Fairmount; brothers and sister-in-law, Kevin and Susan Rexroad of Hayesville, NC, and Darrell Suggs of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, Holli, Breanna, and Jesse Hendrix, Bryse and McKinsey Ingle, Tangella and Jazzmine Ray, Ashton and Ozella Broome, Colby Mathis, and Shane, Dylan, and Sky Rexroad; and great-grandchildren, Kellin Hendrix and Ezra Sierra. She also leaves behind two very special family members, Eddie and Ann Falls of Athens, TN.
Services to honor the life of Tammy Gay Broome will be held Sunday, December 10th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene Smith and Rev. Jackie Waits officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Johnathan Falls, Jeremy Falls, Greg Hendrix, Bryse Ingle, Chad Kelley, and Brian Rexroad. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Fairbanks, Eddie Falls, Rodney Kelley, and Joey Lusk.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 9th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
