Obituary

Sheila Marie Vazquez Groomes, 38, of Cartersville, GA, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 30, 1983.
Sheila showed a rough and tough exterior, but she had a loving heart and when it came to defending her family, she was all in. She was known to be a strong, passionate person who fought her way back from difficult personal struggles and continued to push through obstacles in her life. She was working hard to make a good future for herself. She was excited for things to come and to get back with family.
Although she didn't attend church regularly, Sheila came to know our Lord and Savior as a young woman at Haven of Rest Baptist Church in Plainville, GA. She was working her way back to Him most recently and seeking His guidance in her life.
Sheila has an extensive family that love her very much and she will be dearly missed, but we glory in knowing she is now in a better place at peace under his protection.
Sheila is survived by her parents, Ray and Evelyn Melero; her brothers, Timothy and Benjamin; her son, Cameron; her daughter, Cassidy; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins in Calhoun, Florida, and New York City.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 6:00 PM from Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Tim McCulley officiating.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Sheila Marie Vazquez Groomes.
