Sara Louise Burns Goforth

Mrs. Sara Louise Burns Goforth, of Plainville, died on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Sara was born in Hayesville, North Carolina on May 31, 1944; she was the daughter of the late Carter and Sara McClure Burns. She worked in the textile industry; at the time of her retirement, she was employed by Georgia Tufters.

Sara is survived by her husband, Billy C. Goforth; her sons, David Allen Goforth and Nathan Wayne Goforth; her grandchildren, David Goforth Jr., Justin Goforth, and Brandon Goforth; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Williamson, Harriett Davis, and Lois Greeson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Ricky Hunter, Daniel Kimbrell, Billy Williamson, Fred Hensley, Matthew Gilbert, and Tony Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Antique Tractor Club.

The Goforth family will receive friends from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th at the funeral home. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
