Mr. Sammy Ellis Watkins, 69, of the New Town Community, Calhoun, died Monday, March 23, 2020, in Redmond Regional Medical Center following complications from a stroke.
He was born on April 27, 1950 in Gordon County to the late Melvin Watkins and Anna Nicholson.
He is survived by his wife Evon Dorothy Odell of 16 years; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Jeannie Watkins; Daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Daniel Garvey; grandchildren, Tanner Gallman and Adysen Garvey; brother, Denny Watkins; other relatives also survive.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
To honor Mr. Sammys wishes his body was cremated.
