Ruby Horner Long

June 29, 1937 — March 10, 2015

Mrs. Ruby Horner Long, age 77 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born in Gordon County on June 29, 1937, daughter of the late Joseph and Ila Taylor Horner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Tina Jenkins.

Mrs. Long was employed at several places over the years, including the Dalton Daily Citizen prior to her ill health.

She leaves behind a daughter and special son-in-law, Tammy and John Lethco of Calhoun; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles "Pete" Horner, Roy and Jean Horner, Glen and Nancy Horner, Danny Leon and Faye Horner, Billy and Sharon Horner, and Mike Horner; sisters, Betty Easley and Barbara Collins and her husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews. She adored her grand-cat "Tippy".

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruby Horner Long will be held Friday, March 13th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Eddie Brannon and Ben Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Ranger.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
