Obituary

Mrs. Rethie Townsend Phillips, 94, of the Ranger community died Monday, March 2, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born in the Covington Bridge Community in Gordon County, on July 26, 1925 to the late Claude and Susie Silvers.
Rethie never met a stranger and she loved to cook. She farmed and cut pulpwood. She loved her animals and her fur baby, Rambo. She was of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by her loving husband William Donald Phillips, to whom she was married for 22 years; two special nieces and caregivers, Kayla Silvers and Tammy Blaylock; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives that she loved dearly also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons, with Rev. Delmer Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
