Obituary

Perry Lee Hammett, 84, of Dalton, GA died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Cartersville Medical Center following several weeks of declining health. He was born in Aurora, AL on May 10, 1935, son of the late James Sherman Hammett and the late Callie Elvira Hammett.
During his working years, Mr. Hammett was employed with Shaw Industries. He served his country in the Alabama National Guard. He was a Pentecostal of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his sons, Sherman Lee Hammett, Perry Len Hammett and his wife Liza, and James Leon Hammett; his grandchildren, Jessica van Josse, Perry Len Hammett Jr., Peggy Lynn Hammett, Elizabeth Maria Kay Hammett, Marcus Zane Hammett, Danny Renee Hammett, Mark Buren Hammett, James Lee Hammett, Madison Faith Hammett, Cordelia Ladonna Hammett, Whitney Leanna Hammett, and Jacob Hammett; and his great grandchild, Isabella.
Honoring his wishes, his body was cremated. His cremains will be buried in Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, AL.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
