Pauline Shope England

Pauline Shope England, 86 of Calhoun, died Thursday, April 30, 2015. She was born in Gordon County on January 23, 1929, daughter of the late Lee Shope and Mary Kate Wyatt Shope. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Jo Lance.

Pauline was the Salutatorian of the 1947 graduating class of Red Bud School. She worked at Springs Industries and was a member of Pine Chapel United Methodist Church.

She leaves behind two sons, Carl England Jr. and his wife Donna and Larry England and his wife Diana; a daughter, Paulette England Oliver and her husband Ott; a brother, Rembert Shope; two sisters, Carolyn Sloan and Leona Pankey; six grandchildren, Jerry Conaway, Erin Conaway, Carl England III, Tuesday Lanier, Jamison England, and Joshua England; nine great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Carl England III, Jamison England, Joshua England, Jerry Conaway, and Tommy Sloan.

The England family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 3rd from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
