Nevin Dodd

Mr. Nevin Dodd, age 62 of Calhoun, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Gordon County, born on March 10, 1951 to the late Jack and Jacqueline Smith Dodd.

Nevin had been employed with Prater Ford, and had retired as a diesel technician with Penske Truck Leasing after 29 years. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era, and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Burchett Dodd; three sons, Matthew Nevin Dodd and his wife Erin of Rome, Andrew Jack Dodd and Stephen James Dodd and his wife Brittani, all of Duluth, Minnesota; two sisters, Cindy Dodd Klinginsmith, and Kay Dodd, all of Rome; and grandchildren, Logan Nevin Dodd, Carly McClain Dodd, and Aubrey Lynn Dodd.

Funeral services for Mr. Nevin Dodd will be held Thursday, January 9th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden and Rev. Steve Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Doug Burchett, Neil Baxter, Jim Baxter, Jackson Jordan, Ritchie Balliew, and Matt Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Hobby, Darrell Johnson, Joey Jordan, Chris Petty, and the New Zion Church family.

The Dodd family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to the Calhoun Pregnancy Center, P.O. Box 2194, Calhoun, GA 30703 in Mr. Dodds memory.
