Maybell Seritt Sitton

Mrs. Maybell Seritt Sitton, 90 of Sugar Valley, died Saturday, December 24, 2016. She was born in Gordon County on January 2, 1926, daughter of the late Berry Seritt and Cynthia Tate Seritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years in 1992, Ralph Sitton; her daughter, Patsy Wofford; brothers, Lee Seritt, James Seritt, Jay Seritt, and Roy Seritt; and sisters, Fronia Chastain, Christine Quarles, and Doris Dobson.
She was a charter member of Welcome Gap Baptist Church for 72 years.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Brad and Rachel Stone of Sugar Valley and Kim and Ralph Parker Jr. of Calhoun; a step-grandson, Ryan and Kaila Stinson; great grandchildren, Max Stone, Eli Stone, Nathan Parker of Calhoun, and Becky Bowman of Calhoun; great- great grandchildren, Grayson Parker, Callie Parker, Jayla Bowman, and Aubrey Bowman; her former son-in-law, Roy Wofford and his wife Robin; sisters, Bonnie Smith of Hill City and Joy Parker and her husband Dewayne of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Sitton will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Welcome Gap Baptist Church, with Rev. Ralph Parker Jr. and Rev. Greg Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers serving are Ryan Stinson, Nathan Parker, Greg Seritt, Wayne Jones, Danny Seritt, Bobby Banks, and Ken Talley.
The Sitton family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27th at the funeral home.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Maybell Seritt Sitton are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
