Mary Elizabeth Petty

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Petty, 82, of Ranger, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at AdventHealth Gordon Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Petty was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Johnie Thomas Baker and Lizzie Wood Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Q. Petty on December 23, 2022; sister, Annie Ruth Baker Mauldin;; brother, John Thomas Baker. She was a pianist and member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN and faithfully attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Red Bud.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Renee Petty; sons, Richard (Valinda) Petty and Thomas Aaron (Renae) Petty; grandchildren, Marshall (Faith) Petty, Montana Petty, Brittany (Aaron) Bowling and Gus Petty; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Amelia and Stetson Bowling. sister, Josephine Pharr

A service will be held Friday, February 24th at the graveside at Fain Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Hunt and Rev. Tim McCulley officiating. The visitation hours at the funeral home will be Friday, February 24th between the hours of 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
