Marvin "Burr" Leonard Mashburn

Mr. Marvin "Burr" Leonard Mashburn, 84, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 while surrounded by his loving family.

Marvin was born in Calhoun, Georgia on October 31, 1938, the son of the late Frank "Bud" Mashburn and Lois Causby Mashburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Mashburn; brothers- in-law, Duane Bohannon, Arnold Kirby, Cecil Lewis, and Raymond Langley.

Mr. Mashburn was a carpenter and cabinet maker by trade and prior to retirement, he was employed many years by Milton Stewart Properties.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Lewis Mashburn; four daughters, Cindy Silvers and her husband Randy, Pam Bramblett, Lesa Benson and Catrina Mashburn; grandchildren, Jason (Missy) Mullins, Jeremy (Crystal) Mullins, Celia Reed (Joseph Verhine), Cody (Autumn) Silvers, John (Sydney) Benson; great-grandchildren, Gage (Abbie Clair) Mullins, Garrison Mullins (Raven Pasley). Jaycee Mullins, Annabelle Mullins, Jailyn McGowan, Tristan, Tessa and Tayden Reed, Caroline Silvers and Baby Benson is due August 2023; sisters, Wynelle Bohannon and Liz Kirby; brothers, Max (Faye) Mashburn and Gerald (Ann) Mashburn; sister-in-laws, Mildred Lewis and Joann Langley; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A service will be held to celebrate the life of Marvin L. Mashburn on Friday, February 10th at 3:00 PM from South Calhoun Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Pace and Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include, Vic Bohannon, Jr. Bohannon, Craig Mashburn, Mason Mashburn, Brent Mashburn and Joseph Verhine; honorary pallbearers include Russ Edwards and David Kirby.

The Mashburn family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9th at South Calhoun Baptist Church between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
