Louise Raines Hufstetler

March 21, 1927 — July 24, 2015

Mrs. Louise Raines Hufstetler, age 88 of the Plainview community, died Friday, July 24, 2015 surrounded by her family at the residence of her daughter, Bobbie Wilkey, with whom she had resided for the past 6 years.

Mrs. Hufstetler was born in Gordon County on March 21, 1927, daughter of the late Howard and Sallie Fortenberry Raines. She attended Sonoraville School and had worked in the textile industry for many years. She retired from Gordon Hospital where she was employed in the housekeeping department. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hufstetler in 1970; a son, James (Jim) Hufstetler in 2015; sisters, Betty Ingram and Ruthie Ray; and two brothers, Jude Raines and Harvey Raines. Louise was a member of Newtown Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Wilkey of the Plainview Community; five grandchildren, Michael Hufstetler and his wife Paula, Monte Wilkey and his wife Andrea, Kevin Wilkey and his wife Lisa, Tia Hufstetler, and Eddie Wilkey; and great-grandchildren, Heath, Savanna and Jamie Hufstetler, Taylor and Dustin Harmon, Kelsi and Jake Whitlock, Bailey and Blair Wilkey, and Preston Silvers. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

A service to honor the life of Louise Raines Hufstetler will be held Monday, July 27th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Hare and Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Monte Wilkey, Kevin Wilkey, Michael Hufstetler, Bill Jordan, R.L. Jordan, Jerry Wayne Jordan,and Joe Bohannon.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
