Obituary

Mrs. Lena Mae Rosson Stamey, 90, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Lantern at Morning Pointe.
Mrs. Stamey was born May 8, 1931, in Floyd County, Georgia, daughter of the late Luther and Annie Rosson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ray Stamey to whom she married June 7, 1952; son, Phillip Stamey in 1960; daughter, Lori Stamey Duvall in 2003 and a granddaughter, Melea Stamey Cook in 2021.
Lena Mae was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, faithful Christian and faithful church member at Eastgate Baptist Church, as well as a friend to many. She was a graduate of Model High School, a voting Poll Manager for Gordon County at the Oostanaulla Precinct
Survivors include her son, Mike Stamey and his wife Myra; daughters, Patti Stamey Choate and her husband Kevin, Kaye Stamey Black and her husband Freddie; ten grandchildren, Matthew (Tiffany) Stamey, Halie (Josh) Christian, Sara Choate, Kevin Choate, Kacee Black, Kevin (Brooke) Black, Kandi (Robbie) Evans, Leatte (Joel) Wigley, Timothy (Ashley) Duvall; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Stamey and her new brother, Kinsley Choate, Caedyn and Isaiah Branch, Kason and Trenton Black, Cooper, Spencer and Berkley Evans, Jaylen and Scarlett Black and Acelyn Wigley; a special friend Dot Thomas.
Funeral services for Lena Mae Rosson Stamey will be held on Sunday, December 5th at 11:00 AM at Eastgate Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Rogers, Rev. Clinton Green officiating. Music will be arranged by Katie and Karli Rogers. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial with Rev. Lane Tow officiating. Pallbearers serving will include, Mickey Cook, Gary Sutherland, Robbie White, Luke White, Keith Cochran and Ronald Pass. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of Morning Pointe.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 4th at Eastgate Baptist Church between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
