Obituary

Larry Verlin Gravitt, 79, of Sugar Valley, died July 3, 2019 at Redmond Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born in Sugar Valley, GA on October 21, 1939. He was the son of the late Lloyd N. and Barnette Cox Gravitt. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister- in-law, Franklin and Betty Gravitt.
Larry was in the U.S. Army, and during his service was posted as a medic at Walter Reed Hospital. He retired as a machinist from Fafnir. Larry was a Mason, and a member of the Shriners.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn M. Gravitt; his children, Dana( Andrea) Gravitt, Lisa(Phillip) Fitts, and Erica (Virgil) Lott; his grandchildren, Jenny( Jon), Drew, LaSha(Steven), Adam( Stephanie) Nelson, Easton, Tanner, Tyler, and Jada; his great grandchildren, Ally, Bella, and Boyd.
The Funeral will be conducted on Saturday, July 6th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot at Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with United States Army Honors..
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
