Julian Lamar Greeson

Mr. Julian "Lamar" Greeson, 66, of Calhoun, died Friday, December 23, 2016 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Lamar was born August 10, 1950; he was the son of Pauline Greeson Chastain and the late Boyce R. Greeson. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Dennis Chastain.
Lamar was a man whose life was centered around his family. He cherished being at his grandsons, Corey and Jacobs ballgames, cheering them on and supporting them with his presence. He loved spending time with his friends. Lamar was a dedicated employee of the City of Cartersville as IT Manager and was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kay OKelley Greeson to whom he was married 43 years; son, Eric Greeson and his wife Christy and grandsons, Corey and Jacob Greeson. Two sisters; Elaine Cornwell and her husband Kelly and Judy Smith and her husband Clifton. Sisters-in-law, Carolyn Weaver and her husband Jerry, Janice Fowler and her husband Edward, Delories Dean, Phyllis Willis and Carla Hill and her husband Mike. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Services to celebrate the life of Lamar Greeson will be held Tuesday December 27th at 7:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church with Eddie Brannon officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour. To honor Lamars wishes, his body was cremated and burial will be private and held later at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family request that flowers be omitted and contributions may be made to "Santa in Uniform" P.O. Box 2131, Calhoun, GA 30703 or to your favorite charity in Lamar's memory.
Funeral services are under the care and direction of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
