Obituary

Mr. Johnny Dewayne Brown, 61, of Dalton, died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was born in Whitfield County on October 11, 1958, son of Pearl Brown and the late Charles "Bud" Brown. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter prior to failing health. He was retired from Textile Rubber after 30 plus years as a maintenance supervisor. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Brown and a brother, Charles 'Bim' Brown Jr.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina Locklear and her husband James of Calhoun, three grandchildren; Abi, Ashlynn and Ally Locklear of Calhoun, mother, Pearl Brown, mother of his children, Joyce Maddox, two sisters; Elaine Patterson (Michael), Tammy Watkins (Earl), four brothers; Phillip Brown (Janice), Marshall Brown (Karen), Terry Brown (Cissy), Todd Brown (Vickie), a close family friend, Eddie Kimber and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no formal services will be held at this time. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be announced later. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton.
