John Lenuel Smith

John Lenuel Smith, 83, of Calhoun died on Friday, April 24, 2015 following an extended illness. He was born on January 29, 1932, son of the late L.T. Smith Sr. and Josephine Smith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Smith, in 1996 and 2 brothers L.T. Smith Jr. and Gene Smith.

John was a truck driver for Crown Craft and served in the Air Force from 1951 until 1955.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Geraldine Smith; three sons, John Smith and his wife Ann of Calhoun, Jammy Smith of Calhoun, and Timmy Smith and his wife Rhonda of Calhoun; two daughters, Linda Silver and her husband Daryl of Talking Rock, Tammie Ankney and her husband Bobby of Resaca; six grandchildren, Matthew Silver, Travis Silver, Alisha Smith, Timothy Smith, Trenton Smith, and Colt Ankney; great grandchildren, Corbin Smith and Foster Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Wendell Stover officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest. Pallbearers are Matthew Silver, Travis Silver, Timothy Smith, Colt Ankney, Bobby Ankney, and Daryl Silver.

The Smith family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
