Joann Turner Bates

Ms. JoAnn Turner Bates, 63 of Calhoun, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 27, 2023 several years declining health.

She was born on November 6, 1959 in Gordon County, GA., the daughter of the late Carl Alonzo Turner and Ruby Jo Pack Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Turner, and Larry Turner.

She attended Red Bud High School and prior to failing health, she was a CNA having worked at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation and Calhoun Health Care.

Surviving are two daughters, Tawana Stanley and her husband Johnny and Tonya Combs; grandchildren, Tiffany Priest, Miranda Stennett, MaKayla Salmon, Johnny Stanley Jr., Breyanna Stanley and Logan Stanley; great grandchildren, Briley Settlemoir, Jax Priest, Aubree Priest, Grayson Stennett, Parker Stennett and Easton Stennett; sister, Sonia Cozart, and her husband Tony; brother, Sammy Turner and his wife Renee; sister-in-law, Carrie Turner and a host of other relatives.

A memorial service for JoAnn Turner Bates will be held Friday, March 3rd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. David Nix officiating.
