Obituary

Jimmy Lee Cox, 63, of Calhoun, Georgia died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on January 31, 1957, in Fairmount, Georgia to Ruth Hyde and the late Matthew Cox. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Chuck Waters.
He attended Fairmount school. He was a professional truck driver for 40 plus years. He was the owner of J. Cox Transport. He loved working on lawnmowers and fishing. He was a member of Eagles Way Life Center.
He is survived by his loving wife Barentha Clydene Cox, to whom he was married to for 12 years; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Lee Jr and Brittany Cox, Zebulen Brock, and Shayne and Elizabeth Brock; daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Jean and Bo Robertson, Maddie and Michael Page, Leah Goforth, Hollie and John Hembree, Genna and Stephen Dement, and Kim and Brandon Patterson; mother, Ruth Hyde; step-father, Bobby Hyde, brothers and sisters-in-law, Micheal and Elane Cox, Matthew and Kerri Cox, Lee Parm and Jennifer Chairez, Robert and Mary Brock, Jeff and Jamie Waters; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Hodge, Debbie Luffman and Terry Whaley, Susie and Jamie Shoemaker, Judy and DR. Larry Tilly, and Tamara and Keith Burchett; grandchildren, Hazel, Little Jimmy #3, and Emma Jane Cox, Cody and Catlin Bohannon, Stanley Robertson, Camden Page, Haley and Levi Meadows, Leanna and Serenity Brock, Jade, Brock, and Bryce Dement, Maddison Fanning, Bryan Magon, Sydney, and Aiden Macon, and Summer Meadows; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives also survive.
To honor Jimmys wishes his body was cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Eagles Way Life Center.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 6:00 PM from Eagles Way Life Center, with Pastor Vince Gulledge officiating.
