Mrs. Jeanelle Hicks Dean, 77 of Adairsville, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. She was born on May 9, 1938 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Narvie Hicks and Ora Bearden Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Emory Hicks and his wife Lois.

Mrs. Dean was a lifetime member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She worked her entire career in retail, having worked at Gina-Lynn Style Shop, Ben Goldman, Town & Casual, Reese's, and Special Occasion Bridal Shop.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lile Dean, a daughter, Joann Weaver and her husband Nevin; brothers, Lonzo Hicks and his wife Shirley and Willie Hicks and his wife Clair; grandchildren, Megan Weaver and Garrett Weaver; nephews, a niece, and other relatives.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Jeanelle Hicks Dean will be held Thursday, January 28th at 1:00 PM from Union Grove Baptist Church, with Tim Spires and Rev. Lamar Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with graveside service by Rev. Donald Young. Pallbearers serving are Jerry Hicks, Bruce Hicks, Michael Hicks, Garrett Weaver, Hank Hazelwood, and Tommy Coker. Honorary pallbearers serving are Sandy Reese, Gene & Jeanette Holbrook, Wilma, Marshall & Glenda Babb, Jether & Geraldine Culberson, and Barbara Hall.

The Dean family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
