James Robert Sutton

Mr. James Robert (Jimmy) Sutton, age 75 of Plainville, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on April 22, 1941, son of the late James Robert Sutton, Sr. and the late Lois Hollingsworth Sutton.
Jimmy was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville, where he had attended all his life. He served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, Sunday School teacher, and Music Director. He loved the Lord, his church, and his church family. His life revolved around his family and his church. Jimmy had been employed with Burlington Mills and Trend Mills, and had retired from Church Chair Company.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Frances Ann Sutton; his son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Gena Sutton of Sonoraville; his daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Ty Bramblett of Fairmount, and Tonya Parker of Scottsville; his grandchildren, Chelsea Patton and her husband Billy, Caleb Johnson and his wife Annette, Skylar Sutton, Logan Sutton, Haley Parker, and Hunter Parker; step-granddaughters, Celia Reed and Regan Bramblett; and great-grandchildren, Jaxson Patton, Tristen Reed, Tessa Reed, Tayden Reed and Abi Garcia.
Services to honor the life of Mr. James Robert (Jimmy) Sutton, will be held Tuesday, January 3rd at 2:00 PM from Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. David Ray, Rev. W.A. Ivie, and Rev. Ron Bankson officiating. Jimmys body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Gilbert Family Cemetery. Pallbearers are Deacons of the church, and include Rodney Freeman, Wayne Jackson, Kevin Farrell, Roger Wilson, Larry Brown, and Gene Grisham. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The Sutton family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, January 2nd from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
