James Grady Tinch

June 2, 1932 — March 21, 2017

Mr. James Grady Tinch, 84 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in Murry County on June 2, 1932, son of the late Monroe Tinch and Mae Hall Tinch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Marvin and Ora H. Clark; four brothers, J.M., Paul B., Raymond and Bob Tinch; three half brothers, George, Willard and Claude Hall and three sisters; Nell Hall Tinch and Martha Tinch.
Mr. Tinch was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1952-1954 and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and attended Agape Baptist Church. Grady was a truck driver and retired from Vulcan Materials after 42 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ruby Gallman Tinch; sons, Larry Tinch and his wife Rose and Tim Tinch and his wife Julie; a brother, Bill Tinch and his wife Jean; a sister, Grapell Headrick; grandchildren, Brian Tinch and his wife Julie, Dylan Tinch, Coy Tinch, Cheyenne Tinch, and Heath Melville; and great-grandchildren, Tanner, Bayleigh, Tyler, and Gunner Tinch.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. James Cobb officiating. Interment will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Brian Tinch, Tanner Tinch, Tyler Tinch, Dylan Tinch, Donald Gallman, Dallas Tinch, Coy Tinch, and Mike Tinch.
The Tinch family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
