Obituary

Mr. James Fowler, 81, of Fairmount, Georgia died Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Cartersville Medical Center after several months of declining health. He was born on June 15, 1938, in Floyd County to the late Clifford Fowler and Edna Mae Boyd. He was proceeded in death by his siblings, Richard Fowler and Bonnie Edwards and brother-in-law, Tony Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Elaine Fowler; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Shawn Veit and Donna and Jim Burns; grandchildren, Trey Burns and Amber Burns, Lee Callaway and Cody Callaway, and Kayla Dean Phillips; great-grandchildren, Braden, Madison, Cole, Brooklynn, and Wyatt Callaway; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Linda Chastain, Daniel and Tammy Chastain and Boyd Chastain; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Parker and Willine and Butch Young; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2020, after 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. William Cline and Reggie Temples officiating. Singing will be arranged by Darrell Wilson and Rhonda Cunningham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Chastain, Rodney Fowler, Ritchie Fowler, Eric Fowler, Ellis Payne, and Lee Callaway. Honorary pallbearers include Cody Callaway, Daniel Chastain, Stephen Chastain, and Luke Corn.
