James Buttram

James E. Buttram, 90, of Calhoun, died at Morning Pointe on January 1, 2017 following several months of declining health. James was born in Floyd County, GA on January 7, 1926; he was the son of the late George and Fannie Carnes Buttram. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Kathleen Quarles Buttram and Gladys Smith Buttram; his sons, Danny Ray Buttram and Scottie Lynn Buttram. James served in The United States Army Air Force. James was a member of The American Legion. He was retired as a mail carrier from The United States Postal Service. James was a member of The Resaca Church of God.
James is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Linda Buttram; his grandchildren and their spouses, Kary and Tim Price, Jason and Melissa Buttram, Kim and Dallas Holcomb, Jacob and Lori Buttram, Adam Buttram, and Shannon and Kenny Lawson; his brother, Larry Buttram; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The Buttram family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun. Burial, with military honors, will follow the service at Hayes Cemetery. Dr. Stephen Pearson and Pastor Mitchell Gaston will officiate. Music will be arranged by the Resaca Church of God Praise Team. Pallbearers are Jason Buttram, Jacob Buttram, Adam Buttram, Andrew Buttram, Troy Frantzeni, Randy Johns, and David Vowell.
Friends may sign the online guest register at www.maxbrannonandsons.com. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
