H.L. Kirby

H.L. Kirby, 76, of Resaca died Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born in Calhoun, GA on August 5, 1941, son of the late Edgar Kirby and Thelma Greeson Kirby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Monroe Kirby and Ray Kirby, and his sister, Dorthy Edwards.
Mr. Kirby was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Kirby; his sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Rhonda Kirby and Charles and Roxana Kirby; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Keith Cloud, Gail and Tony Reece, and Latricia Thomas; grandchildren, Samantha and Billy Keadle, Brittany Kirby, Rebecca Kirby, Kevin Kirby, Briana Kirby, Kendrick Kirby, Tony Reece Jr., Clayton Reece, and Ashley Bagley; great-grandchildren, Charity Bagley, Savannah Thomas, Summer Thomas, Mason Kirby, Hayden Stanfield, Braxton Stanfield, Cameron Stanfield, Leelon Meadows, Jaylon Meadows, Joshua Meadows, and Tobias Ellis; and his brothers and sister-in-law, Larry and Sandra Kirby, Jack Kirby, and Auther Kirby; and his sisters, Maxine Yommans, Mary Ruth Sanford, and Louise Vandyke.
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 18th at 2:00 p.m. from Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Donny Matilla, Rev. Delmar Davenport, Rev. Bobby Green, and Rev. M.L. Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Tony Reece Jr., Billy Keadle, Kendrick Kirby, Kevin Talley, Randall Talley, CJ Reece, and Kevin Kirby. Honorary pallbearers serving are Bobby Keadle Sr. and Bill Wheat.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, December 17th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
