Geraldine Boswell Dotson

Mrs. Geraldine Boswell Dotson, 75 of Calhoun, died Monday, May 4, 2015 at Gordon Hospital following three years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on March 23, 1940, daughter of the late Gordon and Lillian Bagley Boswell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Dennis Dotson, Sr.

Mrs. Dotson was a life-long resident of Calhoun, and a graduate of Red Bud High School. She was employed with Mannington Mills for 26 years, and attended Heritage Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Jody Smith; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Todd Norrell, all of Calhoun; step-children, Sharon Gerard, David Dotson, and Dennis Dotson, Jr.; grandchildren, Dylan Smith and Nathaniel Morton; and her very faithful friend of 17 years, John A. Russell.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Geraldine Boswell Dotson will be held Thursday, May 7th at 3:00 PM from Heritage Baptist Church, with Rev. David Ray and Rev. Walter Hare officiating. Interment will follow the service in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving include David Dotson, Dennis Dotson, Bill Hutchenson, Jimmy Dutton, Courtney Taylor, and Donald Bowen.

The Dotson family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in Geraldine's memory to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway SE #1, Marietta, GA 30067, or to the American Cancer Society, 300 West Emory Street, Dalton, GA 30720.
