Ethelene Serritt Compton

Mrs. Ethelene Serritt Compton, 63, of Calhoun died at her home on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 after several months of declining health. Ethelene was born in Gordon County on October 24, 1953; she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Jewel Serritt. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Compton; her son, Ben Hallman; her granddaughter, Trinitie Ferger; her nephew, Randy Tinch; her sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Tinch, and Kathleen Jackson. Ethelene was a member of Resaca Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Hallman; her grandchildren, Briana Hallman and Ivie Sergent; her nieces and nephews, Michelle Cleary and her husband, Chris, Jeff Jackson and his wife, Misty, and Stephanie Mann; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Chris Tinch, Erica Cleary, Jeffrey Jackson, Jessica Cash, Kathleen Jackson, and Ashley Mann; her brother-in-law, John Jackson.
To honor her wishes, Ethelenes body was cremated. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
