Obituary

Dorothy A. Stevenson, 83, of Calhoun, died Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was born in Irondale, Missouri on November 5, 1935, daughter of the late Clarence Orville Province and Daisy Gladys Beck (Province). Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Province, her brother-in-law, Joe Hazard, and her sister and brother-in-law,, Sherry and Donald De Rousse.
Dorothy love to read and work in her flowers.
She became a SDA member in 1963, after researching many religions. She loved her Lord and loved reading the Bible.
Dorothy met her husband James at a friends house at a backyard ballgame in St. Louis, Missouri. It was love at first sight. They married February 9, 1951. After 68 years of marriage, they couldnt have loved each other more.
Dorothy spent her life taking care of her husband and children. She loved her husband and children dearly. She made her own prefix to her loved ones. She added (my) in front of their names, because they were all hers, and she was always theirs.
They had five children, Terry (Shirley) Stevenson, Debbie Stevenson, Cynthia (Steve) Kauffman, Patricia (Glenn) MacKenzie, and James (Tammy) Stevenson. They had fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Judy Hazard, and Carole (Lee Roy) Hawthorne.
Services to honor the life of Dorothy A. Stevenson will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with family members and Pastor Sierra officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Chris Dean, Mason Puckett, Ethan Bunch, Evan Bunch, Tyler Gibbs, and Kenny Gibbs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
