Donnie Lamar Mcentire

Mr. Donnie Lamar McEntire, 60 of Calhoun, died early Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center following several years of declining health.
He was born in Bartow County on March 23, 1956, son of the late Carl and Rose McEntire.
Donnie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Even though his health was not good, he was a man who had to stay busy. He loved doing whatever he could for his family, enjoying his farm, and riding his Kawasaki Mule. Donnie was retired from Fafnir, and was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Debra Garland McEntire; his sons and daughter- in-law, Barry and Shanna McEntire, and Donnie Lamar McEntire, all of Calhoun; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Scott Silvers of Calhoun; brothers, Michael
McEntire of Taylorsville, and Joe McEntire of Cedartown; sisters, Barbara Garland of Calhoun, and Deborah Davenport of Taylorsville; and grandchildren, Brody Silvers, Belle Silvers, Lacey McEntire, Riley McEntire, Barrett McEntire, and Britton McEntire.
Many wonderful nieces and nephews also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Donnie Lamar McEntire will be held Monday, August 15th at 1:00 PM from Meadowdale Baptist Church, with Dr. Steven Pearson and Dr. Gary Tate officiating. Music will be arranged by Travis Stephens and Faye Bentley. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Justin Hawkins, Benji Garland, Aaron Dodd, Clay Hulsey, Keith Hulsey, Randy Stanley, Jamie Stanley, John Davenport and Randy McEntire. Honorary pallbearers are J.C. Garland, Brody Silvers, and Todd Stephens.
The McEntire family will receive friends at Meadowdale Baptist Church on Sunday, August 14th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
