Obituary

Donald Franklin Ledford, 85, of Calhoun and formerly of the Dalton area died on Monday, October 7, 2019, following several years of declining health. Donald was born in Conasauga, Tennessee on January 25, 1934. He was the son of the late Silas A. and Mary Wilson Ledford. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ledford, in 2009; his brothers, JR Ledford, Marvin "Bud" Ledford, and Kinzel Ledford; his sister, Ruth Beavers; his sister-in-law, Jeanette Ledford. Donald was a veteran of The United States Army. He was the owner of Commercial Sheet Metal in Dalton for many years. He was an active member of the Carpet City Bantam Club.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Billy) Brindle, Babbi (Greg) Trotter, and Glory Young; his grandchildren, Blake (Ann) Brindle, Meagan (Bart) Walraven, Olivia (Rhett) Parrott, Scout (Morgan) Plott, and Cayla Plott; his great-grandchildren, Belle, Blair and Ben Brindle, and Molly and Emma Walraven; his sister, Virginia (Bob) Ellis; his sisters-in-law, Jo Ledford and June Ledford; nieces and nephews; his special caregivers, Inez Owens and Shirley Richard.
A graveside service will be held from Westhill Cemetery on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Eddie Brannon, Rev. David Sanford, and a longtime friend, Mark Richardson, will officiate.
