Carolyn Bell Hughes, 61, of Ellijay, GA, formerly of Calhoun, died Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was born in Gordon County on January 5, 1958, daughter of the late Gene and Doris Callahan Bell.
Carolyn attended Red Bud Schools and later Dalton State College. She worked for Diamond Carpet Mills, Jeffs Bait and Tackle, BNS (Broadband Network Solutions), and Sharions Silk Flower Outlet. She was a member of Crane Eater Community Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Breanna Moss, and Brian and Kathleen Moss; her daughters, Angela Leatherwood and Shelia Price; her grandchildren, Keisha, Bridgette, Brittany Brown, Ronnie Boatwright, Hunter Myers, Shawn Myers, Amara Moss, Owen Moss, and Evan Moss; her great-grandchildren, Ansleigh, Lakelynn, and Grace; her brother, Jeff Bell; her sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Willis and Jan and Ward Pearce; and aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services to honor the life of Carolyn Bell Hughes will be held Wednesday, June 12th at 2:00 PM from Crane Eater Community Church, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Music will be arranged by Jordon Hughes and Donna Gay. Burial will follow in Crane Eater Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Hunter Myers, Shawn Myers, Ronnie Boatwright, Garrette Bell, Wade Bell, and Logan Hampton. Honorary pallbearers are John Hall, Ronnie Coleman, and Dewayne Willis.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
