Carol Ann Taylor

June 18, 1940 — March 12, 2023

Mrs. Carol Lancaster Taylor, 82, of Fairmount, Georgia passed away Sunday morning, March 12, 2023 after a few months declining health.


Mrs. Taylor was born June 18, 1940, the daughter of the late George Washington Lancaster and Estelle McClure Lancaster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Lancaster Pitts.

Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education as a para-professional. Her family stated that she was an excellent cook, enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and was the most self-less person who always was more concerned about the well-being of others and not herself. She loved her family.


Survivors include her loving husband, Jack Taylor to whom she was married for 59 years; daughter, Paula Butler and her husband Bobby; son, Zackery Taylor and his wife Marie; grandchildren, Heather (Wesley) Owens, Alexis Taylor and Rosie Long; great-grandchildren, Merrill, Killiam, Max, Colton, and Jayden; along with other relatives.


The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Nix, Rev. Dudley Meadows and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in the Sonoraville Community.


The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15th from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
