Bill Bishop

Mr. William A. (Bill) Bishop, 81 of Calhoun, died Friday, July 3, 2015 in Toledo, Ohio from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born in Hazel Park, Michigan on December 18, 1933, son of the late Harvey Truman and Katee Rachel Jones Bishop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Fenner Bishop in 2011; a son, Edward Lamar Bishop; grandson, William A. Bishop III; brother, Marvin Bishop; and sisters, Harveline Elliott and Diann Papesch.

Bill had owned and operated Empire Ornamental Ironworks in Michigan, and had owned Bishop Body Shop and Bishop Ceramics in Calhoun for a number of years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Bishop, Jr. (Denise) of Michigan, and Lonie Bishop (Jennifer) of Calhoun; four daughters, Peggy Glass, Carol Walker (Alan), Jennylee "Tiny" Blay, and Kathy Torok (David), all of Calhoun; brothers, Edward Bishop of Michigan, and Hillard Bishop (Barbara) of Calhoun; a sister, Freda Dapp (Don) of Pennsylvania; brothers-in-law, Ray Elliott and Ernie Fenner, both of Michigan; and a sister-in-law, Gerri Morrisey (Larry) of Michigan. Twenty-two grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. William A. (Bill) Bishop will be held Wednesday, July 15th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Parker and Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The Bishop family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 15th from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
