Obituary

Betty P. McBee, 78, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, January 3, 2022, after seven years of declining health. She was born on April 13, 1943, to the late Marvin C. and Monnie Mealor Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Billy Powell.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Gordon County and was a graduate of Calhoun High School class of 1961. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Georgia Burea of Investigation in the Calhoun office and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Larry (Buck) McBee; son, Jeff McBee (Jennifer Davenport); sister, Sue Rhinehart; grandchildren, Emmie Grace Keys, and Athens Davenport; very special friend and caregiver, Rhonda Blackwell, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwood Cemetery with Rev. Mitch Phillips conducting the graveside rites. Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Powell, Randy Powell, William Hamilton, Matt Brannon, Jamie Barton and, Mason Mashburn.
