Betty Joe Horner Easley, 82 of Dalton, GA, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Quinton Memorial Health and Rehab. She was born in Ranger, GA, on September 10, 1935, but had spent the greater part of her life in Dalton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ila Taylor Horner; her husband, Alvin O. Easley on March 3, 2014: her son, Jimmy Easley on November 1, 2017; and her siblings, Diane, James Henry Horner, Mavry Horner Talton, and Ruby Horner Long.
Betty was a homemaker. She loved to garden, and tend her chickens and dog.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Easley of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter Horner and Betty Moss of Oakman, Roy and Jean Horner of Crandall, David and Nancy Horner of Dalton, Tommy and Faye Horner of Fairmount, Billy and Sharon Horner of Fairmount, and Mike Horner of Dalton; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and John Collins of Fairmount; a grandchild, Mira Easley Bookout of Chattanooga, TN; and great-grandchildren, Haleigh Bookout and Carter Bookout, both of Chattanooga. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also survive.
Services to honor the life of Betty Joe Horner Easley will be held Friday, December 15th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery near Ranger.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 14th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
