Arnall Lee Holcomb

Mr. Arnall Lee Holcomb, 74 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on February 17, 1943, son of the late Levi Oliver and Grace Evelyn Brock Holcomb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Oliver Holcomb and Wayne Holcomb; and a sister, Evelyn Echota Lucas.
Mr. Holcomb loved to play cards, and to go fishing, hunting, and dancing. He enjoyed bowling, having won some amateur events, and was an avid golfer. He loved being with his grandkids. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Helen Eva Ables Holcomb; his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Kay Holcomb, Phil and Penny Holcomb, and Chris and Nikki Blalock, all of Calhoun; his daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Mark Hammond of Port St. Joe, FL, Renee and Will Theus of Calhoun, and Brandi Chastain Holcomb of Calhoun; his first wife and the mother of Kenneth, Phil, and Teresa, Nannie Marie Holcomb of Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Willa Mae Holcomb of Jasper; his grandchildren, Brandon and Jerrod Holcomb, Haley and Joshua Holcomb, Crystle Gordon, Tucker, Dylan, Braxton, and Makena Blalock, Jack Theus, Madalyn, Mallarei, Macaylee, and Malachi Chastain; and his great-grandchildren, Breagen and Gavin Holcomb, Trenton and Hunter Hollingsworth, Sadie Lipscomb, Hollis Holcomb, Brilynn, Aeralyn, and Grayson Blalock, and Myles Gordon. Special friends, Bobby and Faye Cook, Randall Parker, and Steve Dodd; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Arnall Lee Holcomb will be held Thursday March 30th at 3:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church, with Dr. Larry Hibberts, Rev Randy Muse, and Dr. William Roberts officiating. Mr. Holcombs body will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the service hour. Music will be arranged by Joan Eggers, and the Antioch Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in West Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Brandon Holcomb, Jerrod Holcomb, Josh Holcomb, Tucker Blalock, Dylan Blalock, Braxton Blalock, Jack Theus, and Malachi Chastain. Honorary pallbearers are Randall Parker, Steve Dodd, Tim Sweat, Troy Carver, Shannon Mathews, and Bob Johns.
The Holcomb family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Family Life Center.
