Obituary

Mrs. Ann Davies Johnson, 78, of Calhoun, died Saturday evening, April 11th at Townsend Park Nursing Center in Cartersville, GA.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Gordon County, GA on January 18, 1942, daughter of Clyde Davies and Ora Lee Hughes Davies. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Cox, two sons, Jimmy Cox and Chuck Waters, two daughters, Shannon Cox and Violet Waters, one sister, Dorothy Gravitt l and by one brother, Sonny Turner, sister-in-law; Carlene Turner, brothers-in-law; Ralph Offutt and Edward Angel.
Survivors include six daughters; Judy Tilley (Dr. Larry), Tamara Burchett (Keith), Leigh Kennett (Clinton), Susie Shoemaker (Jamie), Kathy Hodge and Debbie Luffman, four sons; Jeff Waters (Jami), Mathew Cox (Kerrie), Charles Johnson, Michael Cox, and daughter-in-law, Barentha Cox, two sisters, Audrey Offutt and Faye Angel, one brother, Jerry Turner, three honorary sisters; Edna Young, Vernie Holbert and Robbie Edwards. grandchildren; Grayson, Jennifer, Jamie, Chris, Lauren, Katie, Sheena, Bryan, Wes, Cass, Jessie, Garrett, Hattie Gray, Estley, Shelby, Wesley, Jacob, Scott, Leigh, Charles, Christopher. A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Due to recent federal, state and local guidelines, the family will have a private ceremony. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. The family will have a drive-by visitation in front of Hopewell Baptist Church, Wednesday, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12: Noon on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
