Mildred Blankenship Hand, 71, of Resaca, died Friday, October 11, 2019 at her home, following a sudden illness. She was born in Dalton, GA on January 30, 1948, daughter of the late Tom and Jessie Junkins Blankenship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Blankenship, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Virginia Blankenship.
Mildred was retired from the textile industry after 30 plus years with Astro Dye, and Mohawk.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Max Oliver; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Sara Blankenship, Diane Blankenship, and Ruth Blankenship; her sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Wally Stabenow, and Pearl Scott; grandchildren, Josh Oliver, Katie Shelby, Drew Oliver, and T.J. Oliver; and great-grandchildren, Tristen Hunter, Bailey Blanchard-Oliver, Jaxon Oliver, Amelia Oliver, and Saddie Oliver. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services to honor her life will be held Tuesday, October 15th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Eldridge Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jackie Banks, Donnie Ray, Derek Blankenship, Michael Scott, Mitchell Scott, and Jamie Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Oliver, Drew Oliver, and T.J. Oliver.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 14th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
