Mr. L.M. “Luke” Lovingood, 89, of Calhoun, died Thursday January 25, 2018 at his residence, following 10 years of declining health.
Mr. Lovingood was born in Catoosa County on July 7, 1928, son of the late Luke McDaniel Lovingood and Emily Sisson Lovingood. During his lifetime, he, along with his family, owned and operated Lovingood Meat Processing for many years. He was a farmer, and raised, bred, and raced Quarter horses.
Survivors include his wife, Arettia Meeks Lovingood; his children, Larry Lovingood, Randall and Robbie Lovingood, Ronnie and Lewis Cobb, Renee Lovingood, Danny and Kyle Lovingood, Marylou and Morris Ethridge, Melinda and Mark Turner, and Millie Vance; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Lovingood; 33 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild on the way.
Funeral services for Mr. L.M. “Luke” Lovingood will be held Saturday, January 27th, at 11:00 AM, from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with his grandson, Tyler Hicks, officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Tony and Adam Lovingood, John Gravitte, Chad and Lance Hughes, Jacob McClure, Daniel Lockaby and Bogan Mitchell. Great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 26th, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and Saturday, from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour of 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
