Jackie Gene Parker, 61, of Calhoun, died Monday, January 22, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gordon County on April 28, 1956, son of the late Claude and Avenell Buff Parker, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin Parker and Jerry Parker; and sisters, Mammie Joe Pack and Ruth Ann Logan.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Young Parker; his sons and daughters-in-law, Sonny and Natalie Parker, and Brent and B.J. Parker, all of Calhoun; his brothers and sister-in-law, Claude Junior Parker, and Danny and Rebecca Parker, all of Calhoun; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and David Clayton of Cohutta; grandchildren, Aundrea Leigh Dutton and her husband Ty of Fairmount, Celeste Parker, Chandra Parker, and Chelsey Parker, all of Calhoun; step-grandchildren, Cheyanne Childers and Kameron Childers and her husband Bo of Calhoun; a great-grandchild, Paris Dutton of Fairmount; and a step great-grandchild, Mattie Grace Childers of Calhoun. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews also survive.
Services to honor the life of Jackie Gene Parker will be held Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 PM from Canaanland Christian Center, 4304 Towe Chapel Road, Adairsville, GA 30103, with Bro. Lamar Long officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Mitchell Shephard, Billy Redd, Bo Hightower, Richie Seckinger, Von Johnson, and Bryan Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Jacobs, Darell Bradshaw, DOT Staff, Brian Parker, and Keith Parker.
The Parker family will receive friends at Canaanland Christian Center on Friday, January 26th after 12:00 noon.
