Lamar Sosebee

Mr. Lamar Sosebee, age 69 of Resaca, GA passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Whitfield County on January 5, 1945, son of the late Atticus and Hester McKeehan Sosebee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebekah Sosebee on November 22, 2013; and a brother, Kenneth Sosebee on December 16, 2013.

Lamar had retired from Shaw Industries Plant 7 in 2000. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Katie Mae Wilson Sosebee; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Tish Sosebee of Resaca; a daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Jerry Matthews of Resaca; three sisters, Shelby Jean Mashburn and Barbara Jackson, both of Chatsworth, and Eloise Looney and her husband Kenneth of Woodstock; and grandchildren, Jessica Leann Sosebee, Miranda Breann Sosebee, Trey Matthews, and Ethan Matthews.

The Sosebee family will receive friends at Concord Baptist Church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM Friday.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Lamar Sosebee will be held Friday, February 14th at 1:00 PM from the Concord Baptist Church, with Bro. Sammy Allen, Bro. Jerry Matthews, and Bro. Mike Janow officiating. Music will be arranged by Clint and Donna Kerns and Wesley Morrison. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Teddy Welch, Freddy Welch, Brian Sosebee, Doug Wilson, Samuel Allen, and Steve Johnson.
